Akalabeth: World of Doom for Commodore 64 [Project Update]

Akalabeht Screen 02

After almost a week from the release, we have managed to ship all the numbered copies to the lucky fifty people who reserved a copy in the first two hours after the release.

We believe that the first copies will be delivered next week, considering that, usually from Ireland, standard Airmail takes from 3 to 5 days to reach the United Kingdom and continental Europe; 10 days at least for Canada and USA. Once the only fifty existing copies are delivered, we are sure that digital versions will be around. However, owners of the diskettes will be the first people to have the chance to see the Commodore 64 version of Akalabeth and experience it as if it had been released in the 1982.

All copies have been hand numbered and we will keep record of the respective owners, in case tracking of fake disks is needed.  At the moment, we have no plan to release more numbered disk versions of it. However, some standard (not numbered) copies might be available in the future.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported us, and being overwhelmed by hundreds of requests in the first six hours after the official release, has been a great motivation for new upcoming retro CRPG projects.

We can now officially announce that Dungeoneer Games & Simulations – apart from publishing Old School Pen-and-Paper RPG for the Italian market – will be active on CRPGs side. We are already working on a new project which will be announced – hopefully – soon.

Last but not least, thanks to Andrea Schincaglia (Code) and David Vigh (Graphics) for making this possible and of course to Lord British for “creating worlds”.
